Sigmund Freud Statue

About

Clark University – Worcester, MA

1999

Sigmund Freud, the famed father of psychoanalysis, sits on a low wall at Clark University in Worcester. He gave a series of lectures at the University in 1909, which was his only visit to and public appearance in the United States. The bronze commemorates this historic event. It is an interactive sculpture in which the viewer can sit on the wall opposite Freud, look into his piercing eyes, and be analyzed.
