The University of Delaware reached out to Robert after he completed other projects for the school, such as the Blue Hen sculpture, to create busts of a baseball coach and then later three football coaches. The portraits are of Robert M. “Bob” Hannah, baseball coach from 1965 to 2000; William D. “Bill” Murray, football coach from 1940 to 1950; David M. Nelson, football coach from 1951 to 1965; and Harold R. “Tubby” Raymond, football coach from 1966 to 2001.
